This is the new "Official" website for Jason Bennett and The Resistance. We're building content so if you check back there should be new stuff coming up on here over time. It's been a while since I've done a news update of any kind so I guess I'll fill everyone in on what we've been up to and what we've got coming up.
Since the New Year we've been playing a lot of shows out of town again with some good friends and bands (Haverhill- Burning Streets, Yesterday's Heros; Portsmouth- Swaggering Growlers and Milo's Syndicate; Portland, Maine- The Throw Aways and The Coffin Lids) and played some really great local shows at Church and also Darkbuster's Annual Hometown Throw-Up at Harper's Ferry. We had a blast at this and should have some video of it available soon.
Our CD, "Hope Dies Last" that came out at the end of September is still doing well. We're hoping to have something new for you this summer as far as recorded music, too. We'll be playing some of the new songs live at upcoming shows to 'test drive' them so you'll get to hear them before they're committed to tape. We're excited about what we've got so far and hope you'll all dig it.
In other more recent news we're very happy to have been asked to play WBCN's 30th anniversary Rock and Roll Rumble coming up on April 12th at Harper's Ferry here in Boston and also making trips to go see all of you that we haven't visited in a while. We're playing at The Middle East in Cambridge on July 12th with The Sprained Ankles and Mark Lind and The Unplugged. Check the shows section and our myspace site for other updated show listings.
We'll be planning our Annual Mission Hill Little League Benefit for this summer again as well. It looks like we'll be doing at Church, it'll still be free, and we're going to try some new things this year. We'll release the details as we get them worked out.
It's been a good year so far for us and we'd like to thanks everyone that's helped make it successful for us so far. We appreciate everyone that's been setting up shows, putting us up at their houses, coming out and traveling to see us (and helping almost get kicked out of the occasional hotel room!) and just sending us messages telling us they support us. We appreciate it.
Let us know if there's anything you want to see on here and we'll see what we can do.
See you soon!
Jason, Jimmy, Mike and Ryan
